Blind Mowing

An infinity of universes ago, the Shrimps in one Universe (we will call it Universe A) discovered a way to cross to other Universes (Universe B). They found out that there are connections to each universe and that all you had to do to get across them was find one and link them up. For the Shrimp, it was the organic wormhole teleportation built into MÜMÜ necks. Problem was any time they went through, they killed the MÜMÜ they blasted through. That is why Oz was the key. Because he is part werewolf, he regenerates, which meant the Shrimps could travel across the Universe' indefinately without destroying teh wormhole. Perhaps this meant they could come back and tell the story of the other Universe.

Little did they know that the rules of each Universe is different, and once they crossed they gate to ours, their immense brainpower no longer functioned properly and they become really freakin' stupid.

Mental Ray, it's Science. 8D

Made for fun. No realflow or anything. All hand modeled and rendered in Maya/mental ray. Lit with only final gathering. Meant to be toonlike, not a single texture used (intensional). Hope you like it!

Love Juice

This is my first submission here at CGTalk! It is based off of a sketch by DELYA, which you can find HERE!
I made this image because I didn't know how to express my love for someone, so I figured, why not vomit hearts all over her? Plus I needed a new wallpaper.
Made in Maya 6.5, rendered in Mental Ray 3.4. The puke mesh was done in RealFlow and totalled out at almost 2 million polygons. Click Here for a wireframe shot of the puke. It was all lit with final gathering and 3 very bright large Stretched Cubes. The shaders on the characters blur the reflection towards the edges, and also reflect more towards the edges. The shader on the vomit is the l_Glass.

The goal of this project was ambiguity. It takes neither side of the issue, it just IS.
This was based off a sketch by DELYA, which you can find HERE. Check out this GIF compraing the two.
Lit with two mentalray area lights on either side. No photons were used, only the area lights and Final Gathering. The image had to be rendered in layers because it was done at 6000x9000 resolution. HERE is a crappy wire shot from in Maya. HERE is a closeup of the headphones, and HERE is a closeup of the MP3 player.
Please check out the high resolution version! Oh, and you can get a print of it here too if you want.
Enjoy... I hope!

Technical Imperfection

I really don't like needles, so uh, I made this!
It is based off the original sketch idea from Delya, which you can find HERE.
This is one of my older ones, that I made over a year ago back when I was still learning. This image got VERY popular for a while. It was even shown on an episode of the TV show The Screen Savers on TechTV a while back. It got popular in the art and wallpaper circuits online, but I wanted to see what the folks here at CGTalk had to say about this image . The large blank offset area at the bottom is there intentionally.

Hard Boiled Scrambler

I'm still to this day not quite sure why I made this image... I saw THIS THING at a store and decided to do a render of it I guess.
Lit entirely with final gathering at 50,000 accuracy and 0.01 1.0 radii. Depth of field is the Physical_lens_dof node. The shaders on the egg shell and feet are Maya ramp shaders, and the shaders on the whisk and ground are both DGS shaders. Every single surface in the scene is reflective, and the image totalled out at 26,526,337,261 reflection rays. It took 177 hours to render on a dual xeon 2.8ghz.
For more info, check the original post HERE!

Made just for the hell of it, really. Me and Delya were wondering how these Zurd characters reproduced, and we ended up deciding they budded from each others heads!
I know the modeling isn't all that detailed and neither is the lighting, but I wanted simplicity and goofyness. Plus, I love modeling butts!
HERE is a shot of the subdivision wires. HERE and HERE and HERE are some viewport shots.
Goofy fun.
